Software Update, after software update after software update. Does it ever end? No. New security patches are being released daily by our iPhone carrier’s around the world. Those yesterday who owned an iPhone and were less fortunate, in the Netherlands, were hit by an iPhone hacker who decided to actually hold the iPhone as ransom! You see, the iPhone has a root password that many who jailbreak forget to change! Because so many people had not yet changed the password the hacker was able to send a basic UNIX command which displayed a little message (that looked like a txt message) that read “You iPhone’s been hacked because it’s really insecure! Please visit doiop.com/iHacked and secure your iPhone right now! Right now, I can access all your files.”!! When you go into the website there is a paypal button which asks you to “donate” 5 pounds into the account. The email address that you paid with then gets sent an automatic message which has details on how to ‘Un-brick’ the phone. I think that this is pretty funny. I mean, people are told not to break Apple’s rules and yet they do! SO now this is the best consequence for them. My favourite part about this whole story is that this hack was probably from a 15 year old kid, who was bored at home on a Sunday night =D
